Kia Ora Members Well, we are still in Level 3 of golf and Level 2 and 1 seems like such a long way. Well, for the Club too, the novelty is wearing thin and so is effect on our income. So, from today when you report to the clubhouse to scan the NZ QR code you will be able make contactless purchases from the shop. You may need balls, accessories, drinks (no alcohol) or a snack before you play, and you will be able to order and pay at the clubhouse entrance. Please observe your 2m distancing of others, wear your mask and scan the QR code. Unfortunately, you must leave for home after your round, as the bar and mingling is still not allowed. Sadly, the latest level update from the Government sees Waikato staying in Level 3 until 11.59pm Wednesday 27th October, this means golf at Te Awamutu Golf Course stays as it is. You will notice that the start sheets reflect this, ie same bubble golf. Greens Manager, Clint will bring out the pins tomorrow (Saturday) and place them in the hole, as per the latest update from Golf NZ, to give you a go at 'a real putt'. Just remember try not to touch the flagstick. Whats ahead for us, well it is clear the Governments proposed traffic light system and upcoming Covid vaccination certificates are going to be dependent on vaccination levels in DHB regions.Already some businesses are indicating "a no jab, no entry" proposed policy including bars and restaurants, Discussion is underway within the Golf Club circles to gauge the level of support for golfers, both on the course and in the Clubhouse be vaccinated. Whilst it is not set in stone, and discussion is continuing, it is clear Green for Go is Vaccinate. If we want to speed up the enjoyment of Level 1 type freedom, and protect the community (8 cases in Te Awamutu yesterday), we support the recommendation of any unvaccinated members and families to "get the jab". Just a friendly reminder to members can you please continue to adhere to the rules and comply with guidelines set out. Our staff are happy to be here so you can play golf so please be kind. tena koutou Management Committee, Mary, Murray and Lauren |
